Cebu Pacific Wins Big at the 8th Annual SimpliFlying Awards

The airline's #CEBFlyMeTo campaign gets the top vote at the awards dedicated to recognizing the world's best in airline social and digital marketing.


Cebu Pacific was among the big winners at the annual SimpliFlying Awards, held on September 6 in London. Nominated in the Best Airline in Launches category, which recognizes “airlines that leverage social media and digital well to launch a new route, destination, plane or airline product,” the Philippines’ leading airline bested Saudi Arabia's flyadeal and Germany's Lufthansa, among others, for its #CEBFlyMeTo campaign.

Launched in late-2017, the campaign tapped crowdsourcing to find out from net-savvy travelers which destinations in the Philippines they wanted Cebu Pacific to fly to next. The #CEBFlyMeTo campaign also aimed to bring communities together, allowing them to voice out their thoughts and push for their hometowns to become one of CEB’s destinations. Over two million people watched, shared, reacted, and commented with their #CEBFlyMeTo votes, with Batanes emerging as the winner.

Cebu Pacific began flying to Batanes in March 2018.

First established in 2010, the SimpliFlying Awards are the longest-running awards dedicated to recognizing the best social media practices in the aviation industry. Airlines around the world are shortlisted and assessed by an external panel of distinguished airline and travel marketing stalwarts. The awards are organized by SimpliFlying, a global leader in aviation marketing and innovation.
