URC SURE Wins Four Safety Excellence Awards

The company was recognized by the Workplace Advocates on Safety in the Philippines, Inc.

When most people think about sustainability, more often than not, the environment and natural resources are the first things that come to mind. But sustainability can also refer to workplace conditions. Studies show that providing employees with a healthy and sustainable work environment can increase morale and productivity. More importantly, it leads to fewer workplace-related illnesses, accidents, and injuries. In the long run, taking shortcuts with safety leads to higher operational costs for most, if not all, companies.

URC Sugar and Renewable's haul of four Safety Excellence Awards.

In the Philippines, the Workplace Advocates on Safety in the Philippines, Inc. (WASPI) initiated in 2017 an awards program to promote compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHS). The Safety Excellence Award is given to OSHS-compliant companies who have achieved a record of having no disabling injuries or no lost time accidents for a specified period of time.
